Very modern matte black kitchen - am stumped with respect to backsplash ideas.

I'm building a new house, very exciting times. The house itself is *very modern, lots of glass, steel and concrete. Open concept in main living spaces, floors will be polished concrete, white walls throughout, and the kitchen will be a product called Fenix in a matte black colour - cabinetry will be black as well as countertops. The matte black will be broken up/warmed up by walnut aspects. No handles on the cabinets/drawers.
This picture give a good feel for what the kitchen will look like.
The hood vent will be hidden behind a large walnut piece. This is where I'm scratching my head for the backsplash behind the cooktop. I'd welcome any suggestions.
My first thought was to install a backpainted solid glass backsplash in a fun but muted colour like avocado, because there's really no colour other than the concrete, black, walnut, and white in the house. I knew I wanted to stay away from subway tiles and the usual horizontal glass tiles, but I do appreciate smaller tiles for their ability to disguise food spatters coming from the cooktop.
I don't mind a funky tile provided it's not flashy. I may order some samples of this hexagonal tile, this penny round tile, these hexagonal tiles.
But - I feel like I'm on the wrong path. Everything else has been (relatively) painless so far, but this has me sort of stumped.
Does anyone have any suggestions? I'd appreciate any - Thanks!
The backsplash isn't a large area so budget isn't really an issue.

Help with choosing tiles for bathroom

Hello! I am redoing my pink and purple nightmare bathroom in the next few weeks but I haven't been able to make my mind on what tiles I should use and how much of it I should use.

I would like to make it a bit more modern. Here are the layout and a mockup of what I would like to do. I used Ikea's planning tool since it's really easy but doesn't show the color right or different tiles.

My father was a contractor and confirmed that the bath and toilet can be moved that way.
I was thinking of going for long white subway tile in a herringbone pattern for the wall but I am unsure how many walls I should do and how high. (https://www.pinterest.ca/pin/335166397261623979/)
Should I go with an accent wall in the back and paint with the rest of the room or should I tile 3 walls or all 4 walls?

The bathtub is a drop-in-tube which is pretty big (I made it look bigger in my layout to calculate the deck)
