I was going to write a couple more paragraphs about why you should have a look at this but really the best thing you can do is read this SEC filing from a couple days ago. It explains the situation in far better detail. Specifically, look to page 137 and read through their strategy. Also, look at their ownership percentages and compensation plans including the stock options and their prices. The financials look great, revenue is up 90% Q3, and it looks like a bright future.

Current Cultural Significance and Meme Value: A year ago I wouldn’t have included this section but the events from the last several weeks (even going back to tsla) have proven that a company’s ability to meme and/or gain social network popularity can have an effect. Tik-tok, Snapchat, Twitch, Reddit, Youtube, Facebook, Twitter. They all have Playboy stuff on them. Kids in middle and highschool know what Playboy is but will likely never see or touch one of the magazines in person. They’ll have a Playboy hoodie though. Crazy huh? A lot like GME, PLBY would hugely benefit from meme-value stock interest to drive engagement towards their new business model while also building strategic coffers. This interest may not directly and/or significantly move the stock price but can generate significant interest from larger players who will.
Bull Case: The year is 2025. Playboy is now the world leader pleasure brand. They began by offering Playboy licensed gaming products, including gambling products, direct to consumers through existing names. Introduction
Julian Stephan is a 40 year old French manager with potential as high as his star player, Eduardo Camavaniga. The 40 year old took over Stade Rennais in 2018, and his side have looked very quality since he did so. Despite existing for 119 years and being in the top-flight for the last 27 years, 2019/2020 was the first time that Rennais qualified for the champions league group stage.
Playing Career
Julian Stephan had a very unspectacular and short playing career. He started off at PSG in Ligue 1. After that, Stephan joined several different french teams, each time on a free. Stephan Played as a central Midfielder. He played the most games of his career for Stade Briochin, a side that he played 51 games for. In 2007/2008, he called it quits and left FC Drouais
Beginnings in management
Stephan has always had management in his blood. His father, Guy Stephan, is currently an assistant for Didier Deschamps on the French National Team. While he was a player for FC Drouais, Stephan was also an under 18's manager for the side. This helped him kick off his career, although I'm not entirely sure what he managed to achieve with the Drouais under 18's. When he retired from football at the age of 26, Stephan also left his role as the U18 manager. He took a year off, but then was hired by LB Chateauroux (that was difficult to spell) in 2009/2010. Stephan must have shown promise with his time at Drouais, as his next job was several divisions up in Ligue 2. He stayed there for a season, before receiving yet another promotion. In 2010, Stephan was hired by Ligue 1 side FC Lorient to be a U18's manager. This time, he stayed there for 2 seasons before leaving for Stade Rennais, where he would find the most success
Beginnings at Stade Rennais
In 2012, Julien Stephan was hired as the U19's manager. This was a big opportunity, as Rennais are considered to have one of the premier, if not the best, academies in France. The most notable player produced by Rennais is Ousmane Dembele. Stephan worked with Dembele as the U19's manager and helped his career get off to that flourishing start that made him wanted all over Europe. Sadly, the career has been stagnated by injuries, but the talent is still there, and Stephan played a big part in helping him develop. After 3 years with the U19's team, Stephan was promoted to manage the Rennais reserves. Keep in mind that although he has had several jobs at this point, he was still only 35 years old at this time. Stephan spent 3 years with the reserves, doing a quality job once again, and continuing to learn the philosophy of Stade Rennais. In December of 2018,
Nottingham Forest Legend Sabri Lamouchi was fired by Rennais after the side found themselves sitting in the bottom half. for most of the season. Julien Stephan was placed as the interim manager while the search began for a new manager.
First Management Job
Like Sergey Rebrov, Stephan demonstrated why he deserved to keep the job as the full-time manager. In a short period of time, Stephan turned the season around. He was also given the task of guiding the team in their Europa League round of 32 game after Rennais unconvincingly finished 2nd in the group stages under Lamouchi. In the round of 32, Stephan's side took out a decent Real Betis team 6-4 on aggregate. Unfortunately, they were not blessed with luck that season, so they Drew Arsenal in the round of 16. However, it was all looking good whenever Rennais shockingly defeat Arsenal 3-1 at home. However, the joy wouldn't last for long because they absolutely bottled it by losing 3-0 away at the Emirates. Nevertheless, they gave Arsenal a tough series. At the end of the season, Rennais finished 10th. A respectable finish for a side sitting struggling until Stephan took over. The biggest accomplishment for Rennes that season was winning the Coup De France. This meant that they would play Europa League football once again, despite only finishing 10th in Ligue 1.
Second Season In-charge
In Stephan's second year at Stade Rennais, he began to make a name for himself. In the summer, Stephan spent well in the transfer window. Important players like Ismaila Sarr, Remy Bensebaini, Tomas Koubek, and Benjamin Andre left the club. All of the players leaving the club gave Stephan an additional 50 million to spend. In total, Stephan spent 64 million in the 2019/20 summer window on players Raphina, Mbayne Niang, and Edouard Mendy, who would end up being good signings. In the league, Rennais had a brilliant season. After starting off brilliantly, Stade Rennais dropped off form for a while into the midtable area once again. However, at week 16, there was a turning point, and Rennais began to play brilliantly. Their form was impeccable, which led to them finishing 3rd in the league. In this season, wonderkid Eduardo Camavaniga began to emerge as a huge talent. Stephan's signings and the team clicked brilliantly almost everywhere except for Europe. In the Europa League, they had a season to forget, as they finished 4th in a strange group that Saw Cluj and Celtic advance, but Lazio and Rennais get eliminated. Nevertheless, Rennais remarkable turnaround from 10th to 3rd and the emergence of Eduardo Camavaniga are what I believe to be Stephan's biggest accomplishments. Stephan showed his ability to develop players once again by trusting the 16-year-old and playing him at the big level.
Current Season
As the season just started, there isn't too much to discuss. However, Rennais is off to a brilliant start once again, as they find themselves in 3rd place. After 8 games. If this continues remains to be seen. In the champions league, Rennais first CL adventure ever found them in a group with Chelsea, Sevilla, and Krasnodar. The start hasn't been eye-opening, as they picked up 1 point from the first 2 games, but it's not the end of the world. Again, Stephan spent 72 million very well in the transfer market. He made 50 million of that in sales, most notably Selling Raphina to Leeds and Edouard Mendy to Chelsea. Some of the bigger signings are Wonderkid Jeremy Doku, Martin Terrier, and former wonderkid Daniele Rugani.
Tactics
Julien Stephan is an admirer of Pep Guardiola and Maurizio Sarri. His greatest asset is his tactical flexibility. Like Rebrov, Stephan is not afraid to change things up. Also like Rebrov, Stephan is a great man motivator and knows how to give a team talk. As for the tactics themselves, once again I am not by any means going to be an expert, and I may be wrong, so I am counting on Stade Rennais fans to fix my errors or make this more detailed. Stephan typically uses a 4-2-3-1, a 4-3-3, or a 4-1-4-1. The team is relatively balanced and they like to play short passes to control the possession. The team loves to play wide and look for crosses to targets in the box. They also play out from the back to launch the attack, but this varies on how intensely the opposition presses. In defense, they can sometimes drop into a 4-4-2. They use pressing, but not as intensely as teams that use Gegenpress. They defend very compactly and look to create numerical advantages so they can shut down passing lanes. When they do win the ball, Rennais will look to counter quickly and catch the opposition out

I believe Stephan will be moving up in the managerial ladder for several reasons. First, he is only 40 years old, and still has 25-30 years of coaching left in him. This means he will only improve as a manager. Secondly, Rennais have spent a fair chunk of money in the last 2 seasons. This proves Stephan's ability to spend money wisely, and also to spot a player. This is a very vital asset for big clubs who regularly have to improve like Man City, or for teams who are still big teams but might lose out their key players to slightly bigger sides. Sides like AS Monaco. These two things, along with Stephans's ability to adapt, and this only being his first job in charge, is what I believe will make him a name we will see in the Champions League for years to come.

An Azeri armored vehicle drives forward, presumably to help their troops who are in a Toyota pickup, commonly used by Syrian jihadists.
The armored vehicle reaches/passes the Toyota and uses a machine gun to fire at Armenian soldiers who are somewhere in front (left side of the video, invisible). Azeri bullet traces are seen hitting the ground.
The driver decides to retreat. He makes a U-turn but at the 1:04 mark, he gets hit with an Armenian RPG. On the far-left corner, there is a small white cloud that may or may not show the Armenian soldier's firing position.
Now the Azeri vehicle is disabled and burning. He continues to use the machine gun attached to the roof against Armenians who have, at this point, ambushed him from multiple corners. [video cuts]
An Azeri tank rushes to help. It reaches the destroyed Azeri armored vehicle and stops to engage with Armenians. At that moment, from the left side, another Armenian soldier fires an RPG and disables the tank. You can see the little grey cloud/air-distortion caused by the missile as it travels through the air towards the tank at the 2:08 mark.
The third Azeri armored vehicle, that was accompanying the tank, decides to escape. Fate unknown.

Those Azeri infiltrators and mercenaries, who push forward with a hope to achieve a result for November 9th (National Azeri Flag Day), with a hope to uplift their spirits after days of failures, are doomed.
I don't know if it's Aliyev's or Erdogan's idea, but every neutralized mercenary and Azeri soldier has been carrying the Azeri flag. We find the flags in everyone's' pockets. Aliyev is desperately trying to uplift his nation's spirit but he doesn't realize that these groups cannot solve problems.
It's clear that the infiltrators and mercenaries won't succeed because Shushi and nearby residents are defending their settlements. Yes, the battles continue in these areas, but the situation is not dire. There are technical and logistic difficulties but Operation Gyorbagyor2020 will continue, and these gorges and forests will turn into their Hell.
For three days straight, Azeris tried to break through the Martuni area (center east) to control a highway to save their infiltrator groups who are trapped. They failed. Operation Gyorbagyor continues.
I don't know, maybe Aliyev promised large sums to anyone who can infiltrate and plant a flag in Shushi, or maybe they do so under the threat of being shot?
Q: what's the latest into on the recent battles near Qarin Tak (south of Shushi). A: the neutralization of these groups continues. Just now I got info that a 30-member group was encircled and destroyed. Some managed to escape. Some of the infiltrators were killed while trying to climb the Qarin Tak rocks (a few km south of Shushi).
Q: how safe are the roads? Reporters Without Borders agency says 80 reporters cannot leave Artsakh safely. A: we've mentioned before that Azeris target journalists, civilians, clinics, and churches. Nothing surprising. I spoke with many of these reporters; the army has created all the conditions for them to leave if they wish. There are no barriers. It's another question that they could be targeted while traveling but there are safer roads.
The Sotk-Qarvachar road is safe for travel, I used it yesterday and today, but it's still restricted for civilians as a precautionary measure. The Shushi road has been cleared from infiltrators and there are Armenian patrols alongside but it's still restricted for civilians for now.
The battles continue. They aren't very intense but there are certain difficulties associated with the nature of infiltration warfare. There is no easy way to face all the enemies and destroy them. Today they sneaked-in equipment near Karmis Shuka but were found and destroyed, including a vehicle that was carrying personnel.
They try to achieve even the slightest success for propaganda but as you can see our soldiers are determined. We will win.

The same pair also sat out an internal training match the weekend before but Liverpool have said there are no injury concerns surrounding the two players.
- Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is also uncertain for the match, after picking up an injury midweek in the reds 6-0 victory over blackburn.
- The news is not so good for Everton. Fabian Delph has had to miss training along with Andre Gomes while Theo Walcott has had a minor surgery which puts him out of contention for a month. Yerry Mina is also out after tearing his thigh muscle at the start of June.
- Ultimately you would expect most players to be at a decent fitness level, however it will shine through which teams are up for the challenge. Lets see who has been taking this lockdown seriously and who have let it go.

- What needs to be done to have a successful end to the season? Win two of the remaining nine matches to be crowned champions of England for the first time in 30 years. On the surface it really is that simple, although that target would be at odds with the mentality and ambition Klopp has ingrained in his squad. Should results go their way Liverpool could win their coveted 19th league championship in the first game back against Everton but, even then, the manager would demand more. Manchester City’s record of 100 points will be his unspoken target. Liverpool, who have dropped points in only two of 29 league matches this season, have taken a staggering 109 points from the previous 38 games. They could win 109 points from the 114 available this season. While that is a big ask of any champion side there is no question Liverpool, their title celebrations stuck on pause for so long, will be supremely motivated to remind everyone of their authority.
- Have players and staff behaved during lockdown? Behaved and trained diligently throughout, which is little surprise given the standards demanded by dressing-room leaders including Jordan Henderson, James Milner, Virgil van Dijk and Georginio Wijnaldum. Obviously some of us anarchists--especially US anarchists--aren't so into sports...actually, I'm not either...except for "the beautiful game"--soccer--and Diego Maradona--one of the greatest players ever--is well worth a fleeting moment of your valuable attention--if just to be aware of his brilliance and ability to rise out of literally nothing.
Maradona found his way out of an Argentine ghetto during the US-backed fascist dictatorship and let me suggest that those of us on the front lines of today's street actions can learn a lot from this guy's dribbling skills:

Which part of the UK produces the best footballers? (Experiment) (Part 1)

thread, I’ve set up a similar experiment which I’m planning to simulate on Football Manager 2020 which has kept me busy over the last few weekends during lockdown.
Hopefully, this experiment will provide the answer to the following questions:
Which part of the UK produces the best footballers?
Where do the real footballing hotbeds lie in the UK?
What if the Premier League was split into 20 teams representing UK regions of equal population?
Essentially, I’ve split up the UK into 20 equal(ish) geographical regions, with the idea being that each region has a team made up of players
born in that region. I’ve used
this website which shows the population of each county, I then calculated that each team should be made up of players from a region of 3.26m people (65.171m/20). Teams are filled up with whole counties, except for Greater London which has been split up into 3 regions due to having around 9m people in total.
Note: Due to the diversity of the county populations and the challenges of geographically dividing the UK, some teams have slightly more/less than the aforementioned 3.26m people. Team 14 (Greater Manchester) have the smallest population but hopefully the produce of the academies of Premier League giants Man Utd and Man City will come to the fore. Team 7 has the largest population, but it remains to be seen whether this will translate into footballing ability just yet. I have also made some
maps using my below-average paint skills to help visualise the split geographically.
I picked each team using a database of players from Football Manager 2020. I extracted a list of players into excel and began manually allocating each player to a team based on their city of birth (according to FM). Ultimately, I ended up on a squad of 25 players for each team and have tried my best to allocate an even positional spread throughout each squad so that the AI managers aren’t forced to play any ridiculously attacking/defensive formations. Squads have been loosely picked around current ability, reputation and transfer value.
Each team will be managed by a manager born from the region they are managing. I’ve allocated the manager with the highest reputation in each region according to FM to each team. This will add an extra element to the experiment and will be to interesting to see how much of an influence some of the better managers will have on their respective teams.
I will be posting the teams in groups of 5 over 4 posts, I will also be running a predictions game when all the 20 teams have been released so keep an eye out for that. I will then be posting the results of the simulation and prediction game on the fifth and final post.
Without further ado, I will reveal the first 5 teams one by one below in numerical order (I would also like some
suggestions on team names for each region, as I am aware they’re not very creative!)

I had to search long and hard to find a manager that was born in this region. I eventually found Darren Way, who according to FM is the current Plymouth Argyle U18 Manager who recently had a spell in charge of League Two side Yeovil Town. Predicted to be in the bottom five come the end of the season, this squad seems like it will need a manager with a bit more experience to do anything of note.
The squad lacks all round quality, especially fullbacks, lets hope Darren Way is impartial to a 3 at the back system. Stand out players include Leeds United defender Ben White who has had a great season in the championship this year, Tyrone Mings, who has recently won his first England caps and Austrian U20 capped Burnley striker Ashley Barnes who looks like the best attacking option in the side.
Amongst the rest of the team, Scott Sinclair and Nathan Dyer look like they’ll occupy the flanks and will be hoping to re-ignite the success they both had together at Swansea back in the 2011/12 season. Jack Butland and John Ruddy will be competing for the number one shirt, who along with Tyrone Mings, share the squads total England caps (11) between them. The team also some exciting young talent in Ethan Ampadu and Xavier Amaechi, who are both currently learning their trade in the Bundesliga.
Arguably the best player in the Championship this year to date, Ollie Watkins will be hopeful to add some more goals to his ever increasing tally.
I am not hopeful for this team, considering the lack of top players and with the inexperienced Darren Way in charge but I’m hoping he can prove me wrong!

Taking the reigns is Lee Johnson, current Bristol City manager, who has done well in recent years in the championship. However, in terms of ability it doesn’t get much worse. The media have predicted them to be rock bottom at the end of the season and have offered odds of 600-1 for a title win for Lee Johnson’s men.
The squad does boast the experience of Gareth Barry, who is the record all-time premier league appearance maker (653) and has also been capped 53 times by his country will be a frontrunner for captain duties. Sunderland ‘til I die fan favourite Jonny Williams makes an appearance in midfield along with Solly March who looks to be the most promising player in the final third.
The goalkeeper spot looks to be an issue with not one of the three goalkeepers being the first-choice keeper in their respective championship club sides. However, the Brighton duo of Lewis Dunk and Adam Webster look to be a solid partnership at the back and will be hoping to limit the amount of shots at goal.
With weaknesses in goal and up front, the media’s prediction is probably warranted, lack of goals looks to be a big worry with none of the forwards seeming to have top-level experience. On the go-home show, the encounter between Balor and KUSHIDA is hyped up as a video package highlights their history together, having clashed multiple times over the years in Japan. Rolling him out of the corner, Balor soars in with a Dropkick to the back of the head and aggressively pulls him into a cover, KUSHIDA kicking out. He returns to the headlock, grounding him again, but the Hustle Supernova has it scouted this time, cartwheeling free and connecting a Dropkick of his own, floating into the cover, Finn swiftly kicking out, only to not let up, following with a STANDING MOONSAULT! 1…2…KICK OUT!
Balor drags himself to the opposite end of the ring, almost taken aback by KUSHIDA’s intensity, the challenger inviting him back to the centre from more. The two grapple for the advantage, KUSHIDA wringing Finn’s arm out, targeting the once injured shoulder from 4 years ago, but as he goes to slam it into his shoulder blade, Balor counters with an arm drag, KUSHIDA running right back at him for a Sunset Flip cover, only for Balor to roll through and snap him back with a Basement Dropkick! KUSHIDA rolls out the ring, Balor following to nail a SOCCER KICK to the skull from the apron, before taking flight with a SUICIDE SOMERSAULT SENTON!
The Time Splitter struggles back to his feet, only to see last second Balor running at him full force with a JOHN WOO DROPKICK, SENDING KUSHIDA CAREENING HALF-WAY ACROSS THE OUTSIDE INTO THE BARRICADE! He takes a moment to catch his breath, stopping to Too-Sweet his title that’s rested on a podium before recovering KUSHIDA from the rubble, dragging him by his hair back inside the ring. Slingshotting over the ropes, Balor connects a DOUBLE FOOT STOMP to the sternum, another 2 count ensuing as the Prince goes for more and more pinfall attempts, looking to finish KUSHIDA as quickly as possible.

He’s able to get his foot on the bottom rope to break the hold though, but KUSHIDA stays on him, a SOCCER KICK to the arm following! As the champ recoils from the stinging sensation, KUSHIDA springboards off the ropes, nailing an OVERHEAD CHOP to strike him down to his knees, a HANDSPRING BACK ELBOW sending him in retreat to the outside, KUSHIDA meeting him there with a SOMERSAULT TOPÉ!
Now it’s KUSHIDA in control, working over the Prince’s arm back inside the ring, boots finding their mark on his shoulder, before keylocking the arm and STOMPING down on Balor’s elbow joint! A DOUBLE KNEE ARMBREAKER doesn’t help the case, Finn feeling the pain rack up in his limbs yet still trooping on as he shakes it off. KUSHIDA nails rapid close-range kicks to the head, but they only fire Balor up, who rocks KUSHIDA with a forearm from his good arm, KUSHIDA responding with a kick to his leg, the two engaging in a sequence of trading strikes.
KUSHIDA aims for a head kick, Balor catching it, only to eat an Enzuigiri for his troubles, KUSHIDA following him into the ropes with a handspring, but a boot to the face is waiting for him there, Finn teasing a swift 1916, KUSHIDA though breaking free, but still suffering a knee to the face! KUSHIDA fires back with a JUMPING ENZUIGIRI, causing Finn to respond with a DREAMCAST! KUSHIDA pops back to his feet for a ROLLING ELBOW, Finn staggered by the shot, yet still blasting him with a last-gasp PELE KICK! As KUSHIDA crumbles to the mat, Balor stumbles about on shaky legs, turning around to KUSHIDA roaring back to his feet and nailing a WIND-UP PUNCH, COLLAPSING EXAUSTEDLY ON THE CHAMP! 1…2…NOOOOOO!

Forcing his body back up, he rattles Finn with kicks to the shoulder, before calling for the HOVERBOARD LOCK, only for Balor to push him through the ropes and out to the apron. The Time Splitter tries to return from between the ropes, but he’s trapped, Balor connecting a DOUBLE FOOT STOMP TO THE BACK OF THE HEAD! He follows with a DRAPING 1916! 1…2…KUSHIDA GETS HIS FOOT ON THE ROPES! Finn is livid, hailing down stomps in the ropes as KUSHIDA desperately tries to cover up, the referee getting between them to force the break!
He connects a SLINGBLADE, a second following for good measure, before pointing the finger guns as he calls for the JOHN WOO DROPKICK, only to be stopped in his tracks by a DROPKICK TO THE ARM! KUSHIDA nails a BUZZSAW KICK, before heading to the top for his patented MOONSAULT… Balor gets the knees up! A Spinning Headlock Elbow Drop and a stomp to the gut, followed by a JOHN WOO DROPKICK sets KUSHIDA in position, Balor scaling to the top rope! As he prepares to go airborne, KUSHIDA shakes the ropes and crotches him, meeting him up there!
The two trade strikes back-and-forth, Balor using his leverage to rock KUSHIDA with forearm smashes, knocking his foe woozy, but he gets overzealous, striking with the injured arm too and instantly regretting it as he feels a jolt of pain course through his body, KUSHIDA taking advantage and rocking him with forearms of his own, followed by a WIND-UP PUNCH! BALOR MIGHT BE OUT! KUSHIDA jumps up and takes Balor all the way down to the mat with a FLYING CROSS ARMBREAKER! Finn yells for KUSHIDA to release, only for the Time Splitter to transition into the HOVERBOARD LOCK! BUT BALOR, MID-TRANSITION, STACKS KUSHIDA’S SHOULDERS UP! 1…2…3!

In the fallout of Takeover, KUSHIDA is seen outside of Regal’s office, impatiently knocking on the door and pacing around, before demanding a rematch against Balor as the GM opens the door. Before Regal can say anything, the pair are interrupted by Timothy Thatcher, who’s just come off of a huge win against Tommaso Ciampa at Takeover, voicing that he too wants a rematch against the NXT Champ, having had it out for Finn ever since his loss to him at Takeover: XXX. Taking the best interests of both into account, Regal claims that the only logical solution is to have a #1 Contender’s match between the two next week, the winner earning a shot on the first NXT of the new year!
As for Balor, he’s hurting in the wake of his punishing title defence, but like a true champion, that doesn’t stop him from heading out to the ring and hoisting his title up high proudly, claiming that whilst people are complaining about the way he won, a win is a win, and he defeated KUSHIDA. However, if he, or even Thatcher, want another shot at NXT’s top guy, he’ll be waiting. Before he can exit the ring though, he’s spun around and blasted by a SUPERKICK! Standing over him is NA CHAMP JOHNNY GARGANO! He mocks Balor for calling himself the top guy, reminding that he pinned him in the 60-Minute Iron Man match for the title, so perhaps they should go at it one more time to see who truly is the better man. Smugly, he poses over Balor’s fallen body, holding his title aloft whilst placing a boot over the NXT Championship.

Whilst KUSHIDA and Thatcher battle it out in their #1C match, KUSHIDA racking up the hard-fought victory, also on the show sees Gargano in the ring with new NXT Women’s Champion Candice LeRae, having finally captured the title at Takeover, the pair running down Balor and calling him unfit to rule NXT, the brand instead needing the Gargano Way to succeed, their titles being proof of it. Peeved by the attack last week and the trash-talking, Balor storms out, causing Gargano and LeRae to high-tail out the ring, Johnny yelling at Balor to back-off, before getting behind Candice as she slaps Finn!
He shrugs it off, prompting LeRae to attempt to escape out the back with Gargano, but they’re cut off by the appearance of former Women’s Champ Io Shirai, who’s out for revenge after LeRae beat her for the title! With both escape routes closed off, they throw desperation swings at their respective targets, Balor and Shirai firing back and eventually getting the better of them as the Garganos fall into retreat up the ramp, leaving Balor and Shirai to stand tall in the ring. With the issues between them unresolved, a special tag team match is announced for the final NXT episode of the year (30th is given off for holidays).
NXT – December 23rd, 2020
Capping off 2020 for the Black and Gold brand is the special attraction tag team match pitting the NXT Champ and former Women’s Champ against the NA Champ and current Women’s Champ, Balor and Shirai squaring off against Gargano & LeRae! The two long-standing feuds come to a head over the course of the match, all 4 competitors proving why they’re the best NXT has to offer. After a fun 15 minute bout, Balor scores the win for his team with a Coup de Grace to Gargano, settling the score from the Iron Man match, the perfect way to end the year for the Prince!
Before it can fully come to an end for Balor though, #1C KUSHIDA appears on the titantron, who claims that with their rematch official, whilst Finn may have slipped past him once, this time, he’s not going to let that same mistake happen twice. Thus, to ensure they have a decisive winner, he’s challenging Balor to a… Submissions Only Match! Balor accepts, stating that no matter which stipulation he throws at him, the result will be the same, and it’ll see KUSHIDA losing once again.
NXT – January 6th, 2021
Finn Balor (c) vs KUSHIDA – NXT Championship – Submissions Only
2021 has arrived, and NXT’s first show of the year is main evented by the hotly anticipated BaloKUSHIDA rematch! Not wasting any time with theatrics, KUSHIDA heads straight to the ring, chomping at the bit to get his hands on Balor like a caged animal. Once again, he is offset by the champion, who takes his sweet time entering the squared circle, remaining calm and collected as he toys with his challenger.
Upon the bell ringing, KUSHIDA bursts out of his corner like a rocket, making a beeline for Balor, who’s caught off guard by a sudden Dropkick blasting him into the turnbuckles, followed by a series of palm strikes pummelling him into the canvas! The referee intervenes to separate the rabid challenger from his foe, Balor surprised by the pace from the get-go, though not backing down from the challenge as he dusts himself off and returns to his feet, baring his teeth.
The two lock-up, KUSHIDA controlling Balor’s arm, but as he tries to take him down to the mat, Finn remains grounded, instead buckling KUSHIDA’s leg with a kick to the inside of the knee, a deluge of stomps ensuing all over the Time Splitter’s body, revenge for the Prince! The striking affair gives way to the two calling for submissions, Balor trying to choke out his smaller foe whilst KUSHIDA remains stubborn in his targeting of the arm, slamming it into the canvas and over the ropes for amplified damage.
A HOVERBOARD LOCK attempt sees Finn scramble to the outside, taking a breather from a safe distance, but KUSHIDA gives him no reprieve, sailing over the ropes for a SOMERSAULT TOPÉ, only for him to be caught, Balor tossing him INTO THE STEEL MESH! As KUSHIDA collapses to the floor, Finn sets him up on a steel chair for a JOHN WOO DROPKICK… ONLY FOR KUSHIDA TO REVERSE MID-AIR INTO A FLYING CROSS ARMBREAKER! The point of Balor’s elbow slams into the steel as he’s put in the submission, KUSHIDA soon releasing though as there’s no tapping out on the outside.
He heads up to the middle rope, looking for some high-flying action, only for Balor to stop him, pulling him back into a Tree of Woe position and MURDERING HIM WITH A DIVING DOUBLE FOOT STOMP TO THE OUTSIDE! With KUSHIDA dead to rights, Balor picks him up and drills him on the apron with an INVERTED 1916, KUSHIDA left hurting all over, but especially coming down awkwardly on the leg! Like a shark smelling blood, Finn pounces on the weakness, RAMMING KUSHIDA knee-first into the STEEL POST, before rolling him back inside the ring, a sick KNEEBREAKER further damaging the limb!
The Hustle Supernova hops back to his feet, only for Balor to swipe them out again with a PENALTY KICK! Stomps hail down on the inside of the knee, before Balor locks in a ROMERO STRETCH, eliciting blood-curdling screams of agony as Finn taunts his opponent to submit! Eventually, Balor lets him down, but not before a cheeky Surfboard Stomp, debilitating KUSHIDA’s ability to walk. Picking him up, Balor whips him into the opposite corner with full velocity, coming in with a Knife Edge Chop, but his hand whacks the post instead as KUSHIDA ducks under!
A SINGLE KNEE ARMBREAKER connects, KUSHIDA forced to adapt on the fly, before a HANDSPRING BACK ELBOW and a SHIRANUI meet their mark, the challenger reclaiming his footing in the match as he cinches in a CROSSFACE! Wrenching back as far as he can whilst stomping the arm of Balor, he gives the champion little options for escape, but persevering through the hellish submission, he’s just about able to make the ropes and survive! Letting his frustrations get the better of him, KUSHIDA lets loose with a wild spray of kicks to Finn’s arm, but as he rears up for the Buzzsaw Kick, Balor takes the leg out with a LOW DROPKICK!
Finn gives KUSHIDA a taste of his own medicine with stomps to the leg, followed by a DRAGON SCREW LEG WHIP into a SINGLE LEG BOSTON CRAB, sitting deep as he tears away at the leg! With Balor’s frame pinning him down to the canvas, KUSHIDA is unable to make the crawl to the ropes, Finn closing in on the victory by the second! However, the damage done to his arm prevents him from keeping the submission locked in long enough, releasing. Nursing the arm, Balor makes a steady climb to the top rope to test his fortunes, only for KUSHIDA to stop him in his tracks!
The two slug it out, KUSHIDA using his healthy arms to hammer away on the Prince, only for Finn to kick his knee, trying to buckle it once more, but he eats a WIND-UP PUNCH for his troubles! BALOR BLASTS HIM WITH ONE OF HIS OWN! As both men teeter precariously from the high-rent district, KUSHIDA suddenly applies the HOVERBOARD LOCK! Balor is in grave pain, the elevation worsening the affliction! Desperate, he hauls KUSHIDA up for a ONE-ARMED POWERBOMB TO THE CANVAS TO BREAK THE HOLD!
After a full minute of recovery, the two men weakly return to their feet, Balor rattling off with forearm smashes from his good arm, before firing a lightning-quick ROLLING SOLEBUTT and CALLING FOR THE 1916! The arm prevents him from getting KUSHIDA up though, an UP KICK to it from the Time Splitter allowing him to put Balor back in the HOVERBOARD LOCK! THERE’S NO ROLLING KUSHIDA UP THIS TIME! The Irishman’s eyes are popping out his skull as he hangs on for dear life, KUSHIDA begging him to tap out, but the champion finally MAULS him with STOMPS TO THE FACE!
As the two return to their feet, they engage in a striking sequence, KUSHIDA nailing a ROLLING ELBOW, Balor firing a PELE KICK, only for KUSHIDA to go to the well one too many time with the Wind-Up Punch, Finn booting the knee and blasting the challenger across the ring with a JOHN WOO DROPKICK! With KUSHIDA dead to rights, Balor scales to the top rope uncontested, landing a COUP DE GRACE TO THE KNEE, before floating into a HEEL HOOK! KUSHIDA’s arm waves frantically in the air, reaching for the ropes, only for Balor to roll him back to the centre of the ring, yelling at KUSHIDA to tap! The Time Splitter holds on, he can do it, he can make it to the ropes… HE TAPS OUT!

It was a war between Balor and KUSHIDA, but once again, the Prince is STILL the NXT Champion! Staggering back to his feet, Finn relishes in the cool touch of his gold, simply glad that the match is over. As for KUSHIDA, he props himself in the corner, exhausted, no excuses for his loss this time. He tenses as Balor approaches him, getting ready to fight again even though neither man is in any shape to do so, only to be taken aback as Balor extends his hand to him, much like he did before their first match. This time, instead of locking in the Hoverboard Lock, KUSHIDA accepts it like a true sportsman, nothing but respect remaining for the man who defeated him.
NXT – January 20th, 2021
After being given a week off to recover from his gruelling defence, he kicks off the show next week, giving kudos to KUSHIDA for their match, before turning his attention to the upcoming Worlds Collide, talking about his victory last year, wanting another win this year. He calls out Regal, demanding to know his arranged match for the NXT vs NXT UK event, the NXT GM obliging as he appears on the stage.
He states that last year, he’s aware that there was one competitor in particular that Balor seemed to have a great deal of interest in facing, and whilst the match was impossible to run then, it just so happens that he’s in for luck this time, as at WC, he’ll be facing… NXT UK Champion WALTER! It’s a Champion vs Champion dream match this Saturday, as the world finally gets to witness BaloWALTER! Balor returns a grin, clearly pleased at the match in store. Staring down the hard cam, he sends a message to the Ring General, warning WALTER to tread lightly, because the Prince has a sure shot trained on his next victim.
Worlds Collide 2021
Finn Balor (NXT) vs WALTER (NXT UK) – Champion vs Champion
The world of wrestling is buzzing as we approach the night’s main event, NXT Champ Balor making his entrance first through the shadows and into the light, pointing finger guns at the ramp as he anticipates the arrival of the Ring General. Right on cue, the NXT UK Champ WALTER makes his commanding entrance, undefeated in singles competition in 2 years since Balor’s protégé pinned him in OTT. As the two World Champions of their respective brands come face-to-face in the centre of the ring, flaunting their gold, WALTER gives his much lighter foe a look of disgust, whilst Finn stands unfazed in his face, itching to get his hands on the Austrian after almost a year of waiting.
As the bell rings, the two engage in a collar-and-elbow tie-up, looking to feel each other out in the opening moments of the match. Balor is taken aback by WALTER’s strength as he’s muscled into the ropes with ease, the Ring General teasing chopping him, only to give him a push on the chest and demanding him to come at him again, wanting proper competition. Finn brushes his chest, before obliging with the lock-up, this time driving with more power, managing to back WALTER into the ropes, teasing a chop of his own, only to give him a condescending pat on the cheek, causing WALTER to lash out with a chop, Balor evading by a hair-length as he drops to the mat wide-eyed!
He shakes it off though, not letting the Ring General get in his head, instead shooting for another tie-up, only for WALTER to fasten his goliath hands on Balor’s shoulders and Biel Toss him to the other corner of the ring! Finn runs right back at him, only for the same to happen again, having the wind knocked out of him as he lands hard on his back thanks to WALTER’s brute strength. Needing a moment, he backs into the ropes, drawing breaths as he realises he might need to change his game plan, before WALTER appears, swinging for a chop, Balor once again dodging like his life depends on it!
Running back at WALTER, he goes for the trunk-like legs, chipping away at them with successive kicks, even backing him into the corner and pelting him with a flurry of stomps! He backs up and showboats, throwing up Too-Sweets, but as he turns around, there’s another thing coming for him, and it’s a CHOP! He drops to the canvas immediately, winded by the shot that crackled off his chest like a gunshot, only the first of many lethal blows to come from his opponent. Struggling to pull himself back up using the ropes, he’s knocked back down into the canvas by another CHOP!
Defiant, Balor pulls himself up yet again, this time managing to dodge as WALTER throws his meaty paws, going for the legs once more with kicks, before tripping up the UK Champ and getting all over him with nasty forearms and stomps, WALTER forced to cover up! Balor backs up into his corner and measures his man as WALTER gets back to his feet, racing in for a JOHN WOO DROP- OH GOD IT’S A THIRD CHOP! Not giving Finn a chance to rest this time, WALTER peels him off the canvas and batters him with chop after chop, staggering him into the corner, before driving his boot into Balor’s throat, trying to choke him out as the referee counts for the break, a CHOP yet again meeting its mark!
Balor is wheezing, his chest caved-in and discoloured, though his fighting spirit fuels him to get back up to his feet, now throwing chops of his own, the rapid-fire putting WALTER on the back foot! As he drives him back into the corner, Finn heads to the apron, connecting a Hanging Soccer Kick, only for WALTER to lock in a GOJIRA CLUTCH from behind, but Balor backflips over him to escape, rebounding off the ropes for and ducking under a chop, before coming back the other way to land a Flying Forearm Smash! WALTER shakes it off, instead coming back with a JOHN WOO DROPKICK THAT SENDS BALOR THROUGH THE ROPES TO THE OUTSIDE!
In his element, WALTER bullies the Prince around ringside, propping him against the barricades for chops, but as he hoists Balor on his shoulders, he receives stiff elbows to the head, forcing him to release Finn on the apron, who comes back with a PENALTY KICK to the skull! WALTER staggered, Balor nails a second, before taking flight for a SUICIDE SOMERSAULT SENTON! Rolling him back inside, Balor nails a SLINGSHOT DOUBLE FOOT STOMP to WALTER, before raining down with further stomps and chops of his own!
He goes behind for a German Suplex attempt, looking to showcase his own strength, only for WALTER to slap his arms away, spin him around, and nail a BIG BOOT! Picking him back up, he turns him inside out with a LARIAT! 1…2…KICK OUT! WALTER slaps on the GOJIRA again, Balor rolling through this time and connecting a DOUBLE FOOT STOMP to the chest, before hoisting WALTER up for a GERMAN SUPLEX! To his chagrin, WALTER rolls right through and massacres him with a CHOP, before planting him into the canvas with a POWERBOMB and tossing him into the turnbuckles with an OVERHEAD BELLY-TO-BELLY SUPLEX!
Finn finds himself hung upside down in the ropes and he frantically attempts to escape, only for WALTER to try choke him out with his boot, before pulling him up for a CHOP to the back! Balor falls back down again, his leg still stuck in the ropes though, prompting WALTER to rear up and go for a Shoulder Thrust, only for Balor to pull up and evade, WALTER going shoulder-first into the STEEL POST! The NXT Champ gingerly positions himself on the top rope, connecting a COUP DE GRACE TO THE BACK OF WALTER’S HEAD! With the Ring General in perfect position, Balor nails a HESITATION DROPKICK!
Hauling WALTER out of the ropes, Balor hooks in the 1916, only for WALTER to push him away and swing for a chop, Finn nailing him with a PELE KICK, followed by a pair of SLINGBLADES and getting into position, calling for the JOHN WOO DROPKICK… WALTER WITH A MURDEROUS JOHN WOO OF HIS OWN! CHOP TO THE CHEST! POWERBOMB INTO THE MAT! GOJIRA CLUTCH! Balor’s arm waves around weakly, desperately searching for the break… BUT THIRD TIME’S THE CHARM! BALOR’S OUT!

A utterly violent match between these two champions sees WALTER choke Balor out, the indomitable Ring General standing tall over the battered and broken carcass of the Prince. Not the result Balor was expecting at all, getting too cocky at points, which lead to his ultimate demise. As Balor comes to, he’s in a state of shock, unable to fathom that he truly lost the match he had sought out for almost a year. Grabbing his neck, he limps to the back, his title dangling behind him, blowing past an interviewer as he arrives backstage and refusing medical attention, his pride already shot once, instead left stumbling off into the distance…
Build to NXT Takeover: Orlando II
NXT – January 27th, 2021
In the wake of Balor’s loss to WALTER, he isn’t seen on TV, instead taking the week off. Meanwhile, with the next Takeover rapidly approaching, his next challenger is set to be crowned in the night’s main event, as Damian Priest, Timothy Thatcher, Bronson Reed, and Roderick Strong are all pitted against each other in 4-Way action. After a chaotic match-up which sees all 4 competitors show legitimate claim to being the next challenger, Reed nails Thatcher with a Diving Splash, only for Strong to slip into the ring and nail an End of Heartache on him for the victory, becoming the new #1C in surprising fashion! Since the end of Adam Cole’s reign as NXT Champ, the power shift in UE has been noticeable, first with KOR receiving a shot at Balor, and now Strong joining the fray too, looking to be the one to bring the title back to the Era.
NXT – February 3rd, 2021
Following Strong’s victory the previous week, a face-to-face confrontation is arranged between Balor and Strong, the former still looking a little rattled from his match against WALTER, heading to the ring looking a bit absent-minded, whilst the latter arrives cocky and confident, still rooted in the UE’s original ways despite Cole and KOR seemingly starting to shift towards more tweener-esque figures. Expecting a simple confrontation, Balor simply extends his hand to his challenger to wish him luck for their upcoming match, only for Roddy to spit on his hand and slap it away!
The Messiah of the Backbreaker grabs a mic and exclaims that he’s not out here to engage in pleasantries. He’s here to talk about the NXT Title. He’s been in this industry for 20 years, just as long as Balor, but you know what’s different about them? Whilst everyone kissed Balor’s feet every step of his career, it’s always been Roddy vs the World for him. Unlike Balor, he was never seen as World Champion material by the higher-ups. Why else hasn’t he been given an NXT Title match in over 3 years, whilst all Balor needed to do was show up one week and there he is, challenging for it merely 3 months later?
He’s sick of being trodden over time after time again. He’s the most experienced member on the NXT roster. He’s the former NA Champ. Yet he’s left playing second fiddle to the likes of KUSHIDA and even his UE teammates. After Balor took what belonged to Cole right from his hands, and denied his brother KOR of being the man to represent NXT, he wasn’t going to sit around and let him run roughshod over everyone else. He wasn’t going to let 3 years of breaking his back for the company to prove he deserved to hold the NXT Title go to waste.
That’s why he’s here, to finally set the balance of power how it always should’ve been, with him at the top. Congratulations for keeping the title this long, but this is where the road ends for him. Take this as a clairvoyant message, that at Takeover, he’s going to stick it in the face of everyone who’s ever walked over him throughout his career by holding the NXT Title, including Balor. Roddy vs the World will end exactly like it’s always meant to have, with Roddy prevailing.
Balor retorts that the reason why people have ‘kissed his feet’ for 20 years and not given any attention to Strong is due to what sets the two of them apart. Strong is a reliable hand, put him anywhere on the card in any company and he’ll deliver a great match. However, the Prince, he’s crafted for this spotlight. He’s the guy that put NXT on the map and built the ring that Strong wipes his shoes in today, demanding title shots.
Wrestling for 20 years like the Prince is all great, but when it comes to it, how many companies did Strong build? How many titles did he elevate? Whilst he oozes the star power to be the face of NXT, Strong’s just the guy that’s supposed to make him look great, because for all his talents, he was always destined to be the reliable hand, not ‘the guy’. And at Takeover, that reality will smack him in the face and send him to the back of the line for 3 more years before he tries to cut to the front again, thinking the result will be any different.
NXT – February 10th, 2021
On the Takeover go-home show, Roddy takes on KUSHIDA, who took offence to Strong’s words from last week, whilst Balor watches from commentary. Throughout the match, Strong brings another level of intensity to the table as he looks to prove that he’s on Balor’s level, even impressing Balor with his determination. In the end, the NXT Title #1C puts KUSHIDA away with the End of Heartache, signalling the title around his waist after the match, sending a message to the champion.
NXT Takeover: Orlando II
Finn Balor (c) vs Roderick Strong – NXT Championship
All it took was a little spark for the feud between champion and challenger to be taken to the next level, Balor vs Strong a match with stakes not only stopping at the NXT Title, but also redemption for Strong, who heads to the ring first, stoic expression masking the plethora of emotions running through his mind ahead of one of the most important matches he’s wrestled. Balor enters next, flashing his title in Strong’s face as he mouths to him that he’s good, but not good enough to take the belt from him.
As the bell rings, a lengthy technical classic plays out between the two men, Balor playing mind games with the Messiah of the Backbreaker over the course of the bout, continually telling him he just isn’t cut out to perform at Balor’s level, which only fires up Roddy even more, dishing out Knife Edge Chops and a wide array of Backbreakers, determined to prove that his 20 years in the industry weren’t a waste. The impeccable cardio of both men comes into play as they continue to slug it out for the better part of half an hour, Strong proving that he can match Balor each step of the way, momentum mostly in a deadlock between the two.
An End of Heartache garners a nail-bitingly close near-fall as Finn gets his foot under the bottom rope at the very last moment, heartache continuing for Strong as he’s forced to continue, doing absolutely everything in his power to knock off Balor. A 1916 equally almost spells the end for Strong’s night yet he’s able to get the shoulder up, not willing to say die. In the end though, despite Roddy’s best efforts, a Coup de Grace does him in, his dreams coming to an end after an incredible Takeover main event.

Whilst Strong wasn’t able to defeat Balor as the Prince had predicted, he nevertheless still has earned more respect in the eyes of the NXT Champion, who’s reign only continues to grow, the loss to WALTER only a blip in his momentum. As Balor celebrates after the match, suddenly the lights in the arena dim and the titantron lights up, displaying shots of wastelands and carnage, before cutting to writing streaked on a wall backstage in blood, reading:
Time was split and heartache ended
Doomsday approaches, for the Prince will be amended
TICK TOCK.
