I bought this monitor (first 60hz+ ever) but am running a i5-3570k and a GTX770 which cannot produce more than 60 frames for any game. I plan to upgrade to a RTX 3080 in a year when I find one available.
Trying to order the remaining parts ASAP now that I was able to find a CPU and GPU. Let me know if there's anything that could be better or is wildly overkill with price/performance. Thanks Buildapc!

What upgrads should I get to play csgo

Build Help/Ready:

Have you read the sidebar and rules? (Please do)
Yes.
What is your intended use for this build? The more details the better.
The goal is to get 300fps stable on csgo. I currently have an Intel Core i5-6600K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor; SAPPHIRE AMD RX 480 8G D5 DP*3 HDMI*1 . Full list of current build bellow. I expect I'll have to upgrade both CPU and video card, but please let me know if I only have to upgrade one them, or anything else. Questions:
1) I've identified bellow two CPUs, is any of them enough?
2) If both are enough, is the price difference worth it, and by worth it, I mean will I get a lot more fps?
3) Is my currently build being limited by my CPU or video card, that is, which one should I upgrade first, or there is no point in upgrading only one of them?
4) Which video card to get?

If gaming, what kind of performance are you looking for? (Screen resolution, framerate, game settings)
I play at 1920x1080, all settings at low, except for shadows at high. Getting 300fps is important while playing + teamspeack.
What is your budget (ballpark is okay)?
Whatever is needed to get the 300fps, but if I have to spend more than 1000€ I'll probably wait.
In what country are you purchasing your parts?
Portugal

First pass of a new (mostly) gaming PC - stuck between Intel and AMD

Build Help:

Have you read the sidebar and rules? (Please do)
Yes
What is your intended use for this build? The more details the better.
I use my PC for mostly gaming though currently while WFH I am currently using it all day for work too (software dev). Although not very often I'd also like it to perform reasonably in streaming and video editing scenarios as well.
If gaming, what kind of performance are you looking for? (Screen resolution, framerate, game settings)
My monitor is 1440p 165Hz, I am used to cranking down settings to pump the framerate higher for my refresh rate but it would be nice to be able to scale these up for once. Mainly play fairly undemanding games (LoL, WoW, Valorant, CSGO) but I did just buy Cyberpunk and would like some more frames in that!
What is your budget (ballpark is okay)?
Current builds I've put together are around £1300-1400 minus a GPU. Happy to stretch a couple hundred pounds if it is worth it but I am assuming anything further is better spent on a more powerful graphics card.

This is my first build, I'm currently gaming on a lenovo yoga 530 laptop with a r5 2500u with radeon vega graphics and no GPU - so this is going to be a big jump in terms of performance and actually being able to play games other than league and csgo with my friends!!!!
I've done quite a lot of reading reviews, build guides, looked at example builds on pcpartpicker, and listened to a lot of videos by people like gamersnexus, hardwearunboxed, optimumtech, and linustechtips, but I'd consider myself very much a novice/beginner in knowledge. I'd like to offer my thoughts and if you've any advice/feedback I'd be happy to hear it!
CPU/CooleMotherboard:
The r5 3600 seems like a good choice for CPU, I'd considered a i5 10400F instead as it's about £50 cheaper but the Z series motherboards (to be able to use ram at over 2666MHz) seem about £100 more expensive than the b450 motherboard I'd need with the r5 3600 so I think I'm happy with the r5 3600. I'm not sure if I need a CPU cooler or if the stock ryzen cooler will be enough for me. I don't really know much about overclocking and haven't looked into it so don't know whether that's something that I could do on this build/whether it would give me much extra performance.
Motherboard: I've just seen other builds using similar B450 motherboards so have gone for this one. Not sure if there are better options!
Memory: Have gone for 16GB (2x8GB) of 3200MHz DDR 4 memory. I note it's Corsair Vengeance, perhaps £10-20 to save if I chose another brand?
Storage: I understand M.2 NVME SSDs are the way to go for performance, and wanted 1TB so I didn't have to worry about juggling games etc. (I have a 256GB SSD on my laptop so have to be very selective about what I have installed!!) I'm not sure if I'd be better off having a more modest SSD and a 1-2TB HDD.
Video Card: The tough one. I would NOT pay £800 for a 3060Ti btw! The 3060Ti seems like a good spot in terms of 1440p performance whilst not blowing over my budget, however the graphics card market is crazy atm. I'm planning on buying everything else and gaming on integrated graphics on the r5 3600 (bear in mind I'm currently using a laptop with r5 2500u so this will be an improvement anyway!) and then getting a graphics card when the market settles down a bit more in the next 1-6 months. I would consider buying a 3060Ti at <£450 regardless of which type of 3060Ti it is and am on a discord to try and find them as they get restocked but looks unlikely!
Case: I understand that you want good ventilation and filters and slightly more exhaust than intake but don't know if this is a good case for any of those! Just chose it because it's cheap. Do I need to be worried about everything fitting in it?
Power supply: I think the power supply is a little overkill. I've been advised by a couple of friends to get a better power supply than I need to allow me to ?overclock??, and upgrade down the line and to have less fan noise from it - is this too much? would I be better off with a Corsair 450W bronze supply for about £30 less?
Monitor From advice from places like hardware unboxed I'm looking at a few options for 1440p - the Dell S2721DGF, the ViewSonic VX2758-2KP-MHD, and the Gigabyte G27Q. I'm not sure if there are any other options that are more competitive in price or that I should be aware of!
Thank you so much for reading this - I really appreciate any and all comments and thoughts.
NOTE: You do not have to follow this format, but please be sure to answer these questions. Please do not ask to simply be given a build. You are welcome to delete this section.

Help Finalizing my First Build

Build Help/Ready:

Have you read the sidebar and rules? (Please do)
Yes
What is your intended use for this build? The more details the better.
I need an all-purpose machine as I've never owned a desktop, only a laptop throughout college.
  1. Finishing college, major is computer science so lots of dev work
  2. Post-college software development work
  3. High-performance gaming: lots of open-world first person RPGs, Rocket League, some FPSs like CSGO/COD, etc. I don't want to be limited
  4. I’d like to do some streaming for sure. maybe even a bit of YouTube, but I assume with a list like the one I’m proposing I shouldn’t have a huge issue.
  5. Future-proof build, ideally to last me for years to come to prevent constant upgrading, though I will always be open to upgradability as that's the whole point of a desktop.
If gaming, what kind of performance are you looking for? (Screen resolution, framerate, game settings)
I currently own only a 60Hz monitor, but I would obviously like to purchase a 1440p 144Hz 27-32". I've been playing games on lowest quality/texture and FPS settings for years and I'm just ready to not have any more disgusting limitations.
What is your budget (ballpark is okay)?
$3,000.00, excluding peripherals such as the monitor, microphone, keyboard, etc.

I don't plan on settling for less than an RTX 3080, even if it takes a while. I already purchased the PSU and the Case, and the cooler is pretty much what I have my heart set on unless there's some god-tier cooler I'm not considering (the case doesn't support top-mounted 360mm radiators and I don't fancy a vertically front-mounted one). I guess the main questions come down to MOBO compatibility, optimizing my picks for storage, and if I'm making a mistake getting a Gigabyte or FE model of the 3080 over something else. I know this particular MOBO faces an issue (disabling one of the PCIe x16 lanes when using both M.2 slots for the SSDs), I just don't know enough to determine for myself if that's a problem I need to avoid or if I can just grab the two SSDs and ignore the second PCIe x16. I also couldn't decide between a Seagate Barracuda and a WD Black, so currently the list just has a WD Black.
This is my first time building, and I'm not very good at it so I apologize for the rambling and genuinely appreciate any advice given. Thank you in advance! I’m also in the buildapc discord and PCPP with discord username Scatman#8916 if you want to ping me there or dm me.

Looking to do some upgrading this week.

Gaming and streaming on Twitch casually
If gaming, what kind of performance are you looking for? (Screen resolution, framerate, game settings)
1440p, 144hz monitor, max settings in games. I'm happy with 60FPS, but I appreciate 144hz in games like CS:GO and Rocket League.
What is your budget (ballpark is okay)?
Really no set budget. As much as it takes to suit my needs appropriately.

Current PC Specs

For some background info: I play games like Dead by Daylight, Rocket League, CSGO, Call of Duty, and I just started playing Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order. I noticed that in games like Jedi Fallen Order, I get frame drops in certain points (like 40-50fps at times which is noticeable). In the other games, I get frame drops while streaming (also below 60) I think my CPU may be the culprit here, as I bought it when I was playing on 1080p/60hz, and now I have a 1440p/144hz monitor.
Looking to upgrade some parts here this week. I think the GPU is fine for now, maybe a 3070 would be a good upgrade? Not sure if a 3080 would be better for my needs, but I wouldn't mind shelling out the money unless it's overkill for my needs. I just want to play video games at 1440p/144hz (doesn't have to be 144hz but the more frames the better lol), while casually streaming games on Twitch sometimes.
So, do I need anything new besides the CPU? Which CPU would you recommend me? Do I need more RAM? Also, do I need a new motherboard or is that fine for now?
Thanks to anyone who takes the time to read this and help me out :)

Additional details
I wanted to create a build that allows for future upgrades. That is why I opted for an X570 instead of a B550 motherboard. Hopefully prices of newer components normalize soon and I'll be able to buy a 5600x and a 3060 Ti. Also the reason why I got a 650W PSU instead of a 550W.

Dual PC build & multiple monitor setup help, ideas & suggestions?

Why I want to upgrade

So I'm currently using a PC I built in 8th grade, so like 6 years ago, with a GPU I upgraded around 2 or 3 years ago. For the games I play, (mainly csgo and tf2), I'm able to run them just fine at 200+ fps on my 144hz 1080p 27" monitor. However, when my second monitor is on (with light tasks like chrome or discord), my fps drops quite a bit, and even more when I try to stream, even with extremely low settings. The reason I want to upgrade my pc is to be able to have a 1440p resolution on a 27" monitor (1080p looks kinda bad on 27"), and also so that I can run a triple monitor setup without having to turn off 2 of them to achieve high FPS. I would also like to be able to run an ultrawide above my triple monitors, and play triple A games at higher FPS and settings.

Here are the specs for my current pc:

CPU [Intel Core i7-6700K 4 GHz (4.4 OC) Quad-Core Processor](https://pcpartpicker.com/product/tdmxFT/intel-cpu-bx80662i76700k) $273.99 @ Amazon

Case [NZXT H510 ATX Mid Tower Case](https://pcpartpicker.com/product/WHNgXL/nzxt-h510-atx-mid-tower-case-ca-h510b-br) $69.98 @ Amazon
Power Supply [EVGA BQ 600 W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-modular ATX Power Supply](https://pcpartpicker.com/product/DmWrxevga-bq-600w-80-bronze-certified-semi-modular-atx-power-supply-110-bq-0600-k1) $69.98 @ Amazon
Monitor [AOC G2770PQU 27.0" 1920x1080 144 Hz Monitor](https://pcpartpicker.com/product/XxrcCJ/aoc-monitor-g2770pqu) ~$250.00
Total: ~$1306.93
notes: I've tried plugging in my 2nd monitor to my GPU, and my motherboard to utilize integrated graphics, both tank my fps pretty significantly.

My upgrade idea

So this $1300 setup is able to run games on a single 1080p 144hz monitor okay, but I would like to upgrade to triple 170hz 1440p, with maybe an ultrawide on top of the triple monitor setup. Ideally, I would want this PC to be capable of:
  1. Outputting enough FPS in light games like csgo or tf2 to utilize all of the 170hz when playing on the middle monitor, WHILE leaving the other 2 monitors on (with just spotify, discord or google chrome open),
  2. Outputting enough FPS in the same conditions above WHILE streaming.
  3. Playing racing sim games on all 3 monitors at the same time at at least 60 fps, hopefully more.
This leaves me with a lot of options, I'm thinking I would go with a dual pc setup, with the new pc powering the triple 1440p 144hz monitors, and my 2nd pc powering an ultrawide monitor above the triple, with a KVM switch so I can control both monitors (and PCs) with just one keyboard and mouse.
Now, here is my idea for the new pc:

Questions

  1. Can I achieve "1. Outputting enough FPS in light games like csgo or tf2 to utilize all of the 170hz when playing on the middle monitor, WHILE leaving the other 2 monitors on (with just spotify, discord or google chrome open). 2. Outputting enough FPS in the same conditions above WHILE streaming. 3. Playing racing sim games on all 3 monitors at the same time at at least 60 fps, hopefully more." with this PC?
  2. Is my PC overkill for what I want? Not enough? Are there specific PC components which aren't necessary or could be better?
  3. Can I achieve these same conditions even if I decided to hook up my 4th GPU slot to an ultrawide monitor? Or would I need my 2nd PC for that?
  4. Should all monitors be plugged into my GPU? Is plugging the side monitors, or the ultrawide to the motherboard better?
  5. What else can I use my 2nd PC for? I don't stream enough for it to only be a streaming PC, a plex server isn't much use for me either. I think the best use of it would be with a KVM switch to help power the ultrawide if my upgraded PC can't handle 4 1440p+ monitors
  6. What can I use my old 1080p 144hz monitor for?
  7. Cheapebetter options in general?
Thank you if you took the time to read all of this. If you are suggesting changes to specs, keep in mind I would like to keep a white/black color scheme, with the lian li case.

My main concern right now is my processor. I'm not sure I originally intended to go with a Ryzen 5800X, but I read some reviews and am now hesitant since I don't want to jump up to a 5900X instead.
Also, I have a RTX 3080 I got on Amazon that I'm waiting for. However, my friend is willing to give me his RTX 3070 if I want to trade him which is why I put 3070 in the build. I originally intended to get a 3080, but I don't have plans to game at 4K at the moment, and I'm only learning about machine learning, so I don't think it'd be financially responsible for me to get a 3080. Then again, I intend to keep this build for many years, as I did my current system (5 years). That's why I also opted for the MSI MAG x570 board.
I also had a Arctic Freezer II (280mm), but I got pushed away from that too and am considering an air cooler instead.
Thanks for the support, I appreciate it.

please help me choose

i know this is not appropriate to ask this question here but please bear with me i want to know opinions of daily arch users
i started using Linux about a year ago and been using Tiling window manager (Xmonad, dwm) for about 7 months and i don't see myself going back to a floating WM or any DE i am too comfy with my Xmonad config that i have spent months to tweak it to my needs. i can solve most of my problems reading wiki and logs (i don't know everything but i don't mind searching or learning) and i am not afraid of terminal. i have been happy with my distro(Pop_os) now that i known some basics of Linux i want to switch to a distro which is minimal in the sense without bloat that comes with a DE (in my case gnome) i just need a tty to install display server and WM
i have been trying debian sid (unstable) base install and Arch in VM and replicating my current setup and i am impressed with both (comfortable in debin because i am use to using apt pacman is also good) so help me choose or are there any alternatives i am missing?
also u dont care about what init system distro uses as long as it boots fast and fine
my requirements
my laptop specs

my question is people say maintaining Arch is a chore and it breaks often is this true ? does Arch suits me?

i don't have anyone i personally know that run Arch or even linux so thought this is good place to ask
edit : i also care lot about up to date packages i dont demand absolute bleeding edge like arch (its a great thing have but not necessity for me) i need atleat a month or two old software this is the reason using debian sid insted of stable.
thank you :)

You are (probably) horribly wrong about motion controls.

Inspired by a conversation with LamiaTamer on the patient gamers discord.
The title is standoff-ish, but I'm not a motion control cultist about to tell you we don't need buttons.
TL;DR:
Gyro aim is pretty close to mouse aiming. Not as good, but light years ahead of a stick, which is imprecise, slow and impossible to build muscle memory (universal across games) for.
Gyro hasn't been implemented well into too many games yet and it has a bad reputation because of its loose ties to dumbass waggle "waggle to X" controls.
It's more or less the best of both worlds (kbm and controller) and you can experience it on PC right now if you have a PS4, Steam or Switch controller.

Why everyone hates motion controls

The Wii didn't have many buttons so many actions had to be bound to wiggling.
The Kinect and Wii were aimed predominantly for "family fun" and not to improve games actual gamers play. That's primarily because the hardware wasn't good enough to be used for anything substantial.
The PS Move might have been a little less garbage, but just like the Sixaxis and all features of the Dualshock 4, it was almost exclusively used for gimmicks.
Up until this generation, most of the hardware was awful and pretty much all implementations (the only exception I know of being the original Splatoon) of motion controls were gimmicky bullshit.
At this point, Dualshock 4, Switch controllers and the Steam Controller have very capable hardware that isn't being taken advantage of by most games.
Doom 2016, Splatoon 2, Zelda BOTW and Mario Odyssey do use gyro aim (aiming by rotating the controller) on the Switch, but I have not played them, so I can't speak about the quality of those implementations and Odyssey gets minus points for waggle controls.

What are motion controls good for?

Buttons are the way to go for performing actions, motion controls are not. Jumping, shooting, reloading, interacting and all that stuff is just fine the way it has been for anything but VR games.
Where motion controls shine is Gyro Aim and cursor control, so basically: emulating a mouse. That's because of a few things:
  1. With a mouse and gyro, you can aim at any object withing your range of hand movement in roughly the same amount of time
  2. As long as you're not using stupid shit like acceleration, you can build muscle memory - the moment you see a point on the screen, you instinctively know how far you need to move your mouse or turn your controller to aim there.
  3. The range of movement on gyro is smaller that it can be for a mouse, but it's still way bigger than a thumbstick, especially considering the latter's need for a deadzone.

But I'm fine with a joystick, even in fps games.

That's because console shooters play themselves to a degree. Your aim slows down when you're on an enemy, snaps to the target when you zoom in, automatically tracks them and adjusts the direction of your shots even after that. A typical crutch console players develop is aiming by walking - trying to aim at moving targets why you stay still yourself is the hardest scenario for a gamepad.
Just try playing Counter Strike or Quake on a controller against mouse users and you'll have no more illusions about thumbstick aim being "good" for aiming.
The stick has 4 big issues that prevent it from being good for camera control:
  1. Movement isn't translated into movement, which means muscle memory cannot be built up across games and you have to constantly monitor the way the game interprets your inputs rather than moving the camera where you want it instantly.
  2. The range of movement is very small, which means you either sacrifice any sort of precision or any sort of speed.
  3. The difference between how long small and big camera movements take is substantial
  4. You don't get any tactile feedback to tell you when you've passed the deadzone of the stick.

So gyro is basically equal to a mouse?

Let me represent this in numbers. Let's say the quality of control you get from keyboard/button aim = 1 and mouse aim = 100. Stick aiming would be something like 30 and gyro aim would be around 75.
Gyro has some important disadvantages, but there are people who play competitive games against mouse users and do well. It's is not quite as good as a mouse, so you won't be seeing pro players using controllers on a CSGO tournament any time soon, but it's much closer to a mouse than it is to a stick.
Let's talk downsides though:
First of all, when you reach the end of your range of movement, you can lift the mouse and move it again.
Gyro tracks your movement the whole time, so you either need to use a dedicated button to disable it while you return to your starting position or compensate for the reverse movement with your stick. That is, unless you're using a Steam Controller, which has touch sensitive trackpads, which lets you just lift your finger slightly off the pad you also control the camera with to disable gyro, which is very natural and very convenient. Too bad the controller's dead.
Second, the range of movement for gyro is a bit smaller than a mouse's which means you can't quite achieve mouse-like speed and precision combined. You can get close with higher sensitivity, but...
...Gyro is as shaky as you are. A mouse rests on a surface, which means it can easily achieve total stillness, but a controller isn't resting on a surface and your every twitch gets recorded. Sure, lower sensitivity means it won't matter as much, but that makes aiming far away from where you're pointed impossible, which means the right stick has to pick up more of the aiming load.
But you can't argue gyro is imprecise, unresponsive or delayed. In a world where people aim with sticks, that's just unreasonable to say.

Why would anyone use it if it's not implemented on consoles anyway? Mouse is objectively better on PC.

There are a few reasons.
  1. Some people find gamepad controls simpler to learn, especially when transitioning to PC from a console.
  2. A controller doesn't require a desk to use, so you can lay down on your couch while still having a decent input method for shooters.
  3. Novelty.
  4. Some people find controllers more ergonomic than KBM controls. That's especially important if you're someone who works predominantly with a computer - no device can be perfectly ergonomic, so spending 8 hours a day at work using it and then coming home just to use it again for your hobby is kinda taxing on your body, as your hands spend tons of time in an unnatural position.

Okay you goddamn shill, I'm going to be the judge. How do I use this?

The simplest way is to use Steam Input.
It sounds like a lot, but I'm explaining this pretty much click by click - it actually takes like 60 seconds. If you have a Dualshock 4, Steam Controller or a Switch controller:
Launch Steam and turn on "[name of your controller] Configuration Support" in general controller settings. Then you'll have to make or download a gyro config for the game you'll want to play.
If the game supports both mouse and controller input at once (you basically won't know until you try or ask SteamController), the job is relatively easy:
  1. Either launch the game in (preferably in Big Picture Mode) and open the steam overlay or right-click on the game while your controller is connected and choose the manage tab.
  2. Click on controller configuration, navigate to the box with a gyroscope symbol below the controller, pick Mouse as the style of input and disable smoothing in advanced options while you're there.
  3. Tweak the sensitivity to your liking using the steam overlay in game.
There are 2 ways to use gyro:
a) Just for precise movements - make the sensitivity relatively low, get the target close to the middle of the screen and use gyro to make adjustments. This isn't the most effective way, but certainly the more familiar one.
b) For most of your aiming - make the sensitivity high enough so that your comfortable range of movement spans at the very least 180 degrees from side to side and crank up the stick sensitivity in game so that you can basically tap it to snap 45-ish degrees to the side and do quick 180 degree turns. If it's still too slow at max settings, you can always go back into the controller configuration, turn the right stick into a mouse and adjust the sensitivity there.
Option B is more efficient, but a little more difficult to learn and it will really show you how much you shake the controller while playing - you get more stable with time.
If you don't like it right away, it's not because it sucks. It's because it's a new control method you haven't really experienced and it's a skill to be learned. Most people aren't comfortable with a mouse and keyboard the first time they use them.

Okay, nevermind, I'm a lazy asshole, show me those people who do so well with gyro aim.

Check out this 2007-esque video from SteamController Player, as well as his other stuff.
For some in-depth discussion and more varied examples, see Gyro Wiki.
Here's a bonus from a guy I don't know that's also pure gameplay.
And here's my shitty shaky footage I took just to ilustrate my sensitivity settings to a person on SteamController. I was paying more attention to OBS than the game because it was the first time I ever recorded gameplay of anything, so it's sort of the worst case scenario. It's a throwaway account with 0 subscribers and only that video, so I hope mods don't consider that "self promotion", but I can always remove it.

Help with mostly case/ monitor/ headset

Have you read the sidebar and rules? (Please do)
Yes
What is your intended use for this build? The more details the better.
Gaming mostly for single player stuff so no Fortnite, CSGO, Call of Duty, maybe a bit of League of Legends with friends. Otherwise mostly generic computer stuff, surfing web, youtube, movies, songs and uhhh... videos. You know the kind.
If gaming, what kind of performance are you looking for? (Screen resolution, framerate, game settings)
Looking to start off at 1440p at over 100fps with the best settings. Probably an upgrade to 4k at some point down the line.
What is your budget (ballpark is okay)?
looking to be around 5000CAD at this point
In what country are you purchasing your parts?
Canada and maybe US when the epidemic is over and the land borders reopen
**Post a draft of your potential build here
CPU: ryzen 9 5900x
MOBO - MSI MAG X570 Tomahawk WiFi
Mem - G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series DDR4 3600MHz 32GB(16GBx2)
Storage - XPG SX8200 Pro 2TB 3D NAND NVMe Gen3x4 PCIe M.2 2280 also a 3-4 TB hdd hard drive
Graphics - RX 6900 XT if it's a big improvement over the RX 6800 XT otherwise 6800 XT or rtx 3080 depending on availability
CSU - Corsair RM850x
Monitor - MSI Optix MAG274QRF-QD 27"
So some background info, I built my last PC around 8 years ago and it has kept up pretty well with minimal upgrades. However it is starting to chug through newer titles even at lower graphics settings so I figured that with the buzz about newer hardware that it might be time for a new PC. I picked the components with the idea that this PC might also last me 7-8 years before starting to struggle hence the cpu and graphics choices. At the start, I plan on air cooling and not overclocking but that might change down the line. Right now my concerns are mostly regarding the ram, monitor and case.
For the ram I got what I believe to be a dual rank since four stick kits give a performance boost to zen 3 cpus and 2 stick dual rank is essentially the same as 4 sticks single rank. The 32gb is just so that I won't have to upgrade for a long while. The speed is the main concern as maintaining a 1 to 1 ratio with the infinity fabric seems to be important but I'm getting conflicting information on what that speed might be.
For the case, since I plan on air cooling I'll need a case with good airflow but my research has been more confusing than anything else since I don't give a crap about RGB lighting (the PC might be sitting on my desk but I'm not going to be staring it when I'm sitting there) but it seems a lot of others do. A glass panel to let me see what's going on inside without opening it up is enough for me. I do plan on getting extra fans (as well as a CPU fan) but without picking a case I won't know how many and what size to get.
For the monitor, I was planning on going for a 4k one right off the bat but it seems that there are still various issues with the ones on the market right now that make justifying the price pretty hard. As such, I decided to go for a 1440p one and the choice I made was based off a video on the Hardware Unboxed channel.
I also want to get a new headset since the one I have now is as old as my current PC. I dunno if I should be asking for suggestions about this here but if it's allowed then an over ear one that is comfortable, durable, has good sound quality and decent mic quality in that order. Thanks
Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated. I'm not in a hurry to build this but I do want to do it well. Thanks

FPS Gaming
If gaming, what kind of performance are you looking for? (Screen resolution, framerate, game settings)
I play aim games (Valorant, CSGO, Siege, Apex), so I just want more frames. I don't need to be able to handle anything crazy
What is your budget (ballpark is okay)?
I plan to spend about $200 a month working towards upgrading over time.
In what country are you purchasing your parts?
USA

With the exception of the RAM and a GPU that a friend gave me, this build is from 6 years ago. I am finally in a position where I have the time and money to get back into gaming, but I figure I should ask some people smarter than me where my money would be best spent. My main questions are:
